Ranks for Normal Members?

I figured since they were on the last forum, why should we not have them here? Anyone agree?

Not that it's really needed, but I felt it'd be a nice touch, since most all forums have them. We don't need a whole load of them, maybe just a new one for 10 or 25 posts, then 50, 100, 500, then 1000?

The reason why they were not implemented here is that they give everyone an excuse to spam, to try to earn the next rank.
I'd rather have people posting because they have something to say.

Work on your tone a little, please. How you word things is important.
I wouldn't have an issue with a ranking system unless I had experience with it being abused. Anyone who was on the old forum probably remembers that we had plenty of spam that I had to go around cleaning up.

It's up to the members, but I'm trusting everyone to take this concern into account when sharing your opinion.

And as for the spamming thing... wow. I don't see how ranks are such a big deal to people. I just thought it'd be a nice feature to have. But eh, if it's that much of a problem, then you don't have to put them in.

You made the topic, now it's up to the members to share their thoughts.
There's no need to defend your suggestion, just because I explained why I had not planned to have ranks for everyone.

If the matter is going to cause drama, then maybe it's best that we not pursue it.
This forum is supposed to be a happy, peaceful community.
